I think this could well be the most visually interesting work from Godard in decades and it’s a four-minute trailer. Looks to me like he’s no longer technically fascinated with digital video and has absorbed it into his style..something that can not be said for his work with video-tape.
This giant among men has clearly secured his place in cinema history and pop-culture. With this “final” film, provocatively titled SOCIALISME, he appears to have one last grand vision to share…boldly. Looking forward to it.
I originally started this tumblr as a place to semi-anonymously catalog inspiring things. Last fall things got a lot busier for me and I’ve neglected keeping up with posting here. I’ve been considering just closing this down permanently.
Instead of shutting down, I’m going to build on what’s here but take it in a slightly different direction. More personal, more sharing of what I see and know and maybe more people than just objects. Hopefully I’ll find a few minutes to put some words to the images and links too.
For now the design is going to change. I’m currently really inspired by my friend Brandon Harman’s blog, and you can see I have shamelessly copied him and used the same theme as a visual departure from the past. I won’t be using it forever, but it works for now.
My name is Colin. My last name is Hand. I’m still trying to meet the Standard.
Austin, Texas architects Leah Davis, Robert Gay and Jack Sanders are currently installing “Tunnel 01” of the Lance Armstrong Bikeway Project. Check out the THOUGHTBARN General Rinse blog for extensive photos and updates. Inspiring stuff.
